The importance of touch >> More
Over the years we at RESTORE have noticed an increasing dissatisfaction with treatment modalities that do not get sufficiently hands on. Despite their potential effectiveness in specific conditions ultrasound and laser treatments may lack the reassuring palpation and hands on manipulation that can be the great advantage of Sport & Remedial Massage. This movie elequently highlights and reaffirms the power of the human hand and the importance of really listening to your patients....

...with kind acknowledgments made to RESTORE Sports Massage in his victory interview;

"I had an injury free training camp and I’d like to thank Paul Martin of Restore Sports Massage for looking after me and keeping me in shape for the fight.”

Alex is one of the many dedicated semi-professional athletes we see regularly here at the RESTORE clinic in Shrewsbury town centre.

These athletes recognise the importance of staying well recovered and maintained during their training period and appreciate the high level of skill, experience and attention to detail that that they encounter at RESTORE.

RESTORE therapists' operate under the highest level Sport & Remedial Massage Therapy qualification available in the UK today, but it is our commitment to our patients' needs and the interminable development of our skills that keeps us ahead of the game. We stay in touch with the research and latest developments and work in cooperation with other 'top end' specialists to get the results you need and provide the service you want.

Restore Registered to treat Olympic Athletes. The Sport and Remedial Therapies Council SRTC, which ISRM is part of, has become an official benefit provider to the British Athletics Commission (BAC) to provide sports massage therapy to their athletes. They recognise how vitally important it is that these athletes get the treatment they need to help them recover from training and prevent injury and they are equally concerned that they get only the best quality treatment. >> More

Sports Massage qualifications for the blind
The blind have a natural ability when it comes to massage -
a heightened sense of touch is a big advantage. However they are faced with many difficulties in their training. Additional to their disability they also display a surprising lack of body awareness, a lack of imagination or the ability to 'visualise' a concept and of course they are required to learn and perfect their English.

To take them from marginalised individuals who are used to rote learning, to free thinking, independent, professional therapists trained to UK / ISRM standards requires ingenuity, dedication and a whole lot of patience! To read the full story please visit the BLOG or view our PHOTO ALBUM
