Fire Service Charity Three Peaks Challenge 2010

Another year of fixing up well depleted walkers as they hobbled to the finish line having summited Ben Nevis (Scottland), Scarfel Pike (England), and Snowdon (North Wales) in less than 24hrs. Drivers and walkers both felt the strain of this popular yet brutal charity event.

International Welsh Two Day Motorbike Enduro 2010

Two days of extreme offroad motorcycle racing along technical courses that demand high levels of physical endurance and stamina. Restore takes the team through a regular programme of pre and post race treatments to help get them through the event. With a hot tub and caterers this year the team were better taken care of than ever before!

Bike Fest 2010

This event brings together Mountainbike Trials riders from all over the country to ride a purpose made course that offers a variety of technical (often scary!) challenges. With the age range between 14 and 30 some amazing talent was seen, but the sport naturally brings with it high risk of injury. Restore was on hand to look after the riders as the weekends events unfolded... check out the photos.

Matt Barlow (slowprogress.co.uk) at it again... Climbers beware!
Restore Sponsored professional Mountain Bike Trials Rider Matt Barlow found another use for the Fontainbleau boulders this easter! With a daily stretching class, taught by Paul Martin of Restore Sports Massage, Both Matt and all the other trials riders and climbers were able to keep pushing their bodies to the limits, making the most of a short easter break. With at least 6 hours of hard bouldering or trials riding per day, maximising the efficiency of recovery was essential to help us make the most of our precious time off.

Pre holiday sports massage could ease off that nagging pain just long enough to stop it from interupting your precious time off.

Just one session before you leave could be the diffeence between total enjoyment or a nagging reminder of home or work stress. Dont hesitate, book in now.

If like me you found yourself with just a week or less to race up to Scotland and make the most of the best winter climbing conditions since the 70's, then you will probably have spent every available moment of those precious few days thunking your way up as many routes as possible! There’s nothing quite like the feeling of sinking your axes and front points into perfect nevé and solid ice, making fast progress in awesome surroundings. You will also no doubt be familiar with the feeling of burning calf muscles from standing on your front points or the 'thoroughly worked' or 'pumped out' sensations in your back, shoulders and forearms. If you are now trying to train for a great summers rock climbing then you may shortly discover, if you haven’t already, that your body is screaming out to you for a rest and some quality recovery.

Ask any professional athlete, there's nothing like a good sports massage to really sooth away all that hard physical work and release those well hardened calf muscles. Just because we're climbers doesn’t mean we're not eligible for appropriate physical support! In fact, as amateur athletes go we're about as extreme as it gets. We're probably equivalent to Olympic gymnasts in the demands we put on our bodies and think of all the support they get! At least, that’s what I like to think when I'm bouldering!
Take care of your recovery, and your training will take care of itself!
